Luis’ career started in 2006 with SEIU-ULTCW where he worked organizing home health aide workers all throughout the state. There he managed to advocate for the working class families. Growing up in a working class family he learned from his parent’s work ethic, discipline, and dedication. As a result of his hard work and dedication, he was tapped on the shoulder to work as a Legislative Aide in the State Assembly. As a Legislative Aide, he worked directly on constituent casework, provided briefings to local municipalities in the Southeast LA County area, and spearheaded the Young Legislators Program where he introduced matters of public policy to high school seniors. His passion for serving his community is what inspired him to continue to be actively involved. Luis currently works as a Workforce Development Manager working with the realignment population. Here his main focus is to provide support, guidance, and advocacy for a marginalized population. Luis has established partnerships with various unionized trades in order to provide his consumers a pathway to self-sufficiency.
